Get moving Joburg – the Discovery 947 Rhythm Run is here!

​Johannesburg, South Africa: Joburg’s hippest race – the Discovery 947 Rhythm Run promises to get people moving in more ways than one. The race – and after party with live music from SA’s top DJs – is set to light up the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on Saturday, 30 May 2020.

Discovery Group Chief Executive, Adrian Gore, delivered the Group’s results for the six months ended 31 December 2019 today in Sandton.

The Group highlighted results for the period ended 31 December 2019, characterised by substantial investment in new initiatives and a strong performance from the core businesses with the exception of VitalityLife: • Net asset value increased by R1 598 million • Total new business API increased 17% to R11 116 million • Normalised profit from operations decreased 7% to R3 551 million

Discovery Vitality today announced that registration is open for the Vitality Running World Cup, the annual, free-to-enter, knockout running competition gives both active and inactive people the opportunity to Move More. Taking place in 180 countries, from 5 March to 5 April 2020, the Vitality Running World Cup will allow countries to compete against each other for top spot.

The streets of Johannesburg were awash with enthusiastic cyclists who rode à bloc in Joburg’s iconic and most-loved cycling event. This year’s event attracted roughly 23, 000 cyclists as well as 20 000 eager supporters. The Discovery 947 Ride Joburg is the world’s second-largest timed cycling race and features cyclists ranging from beginner to elite every year.

 Taking place in 2020, from 5 March to 5 April, the Vitality Running World Cup gives everyone the chance to represent their country in an annual, free-to-enter, knockout, global running competition.
