Trevor Manuel joins prestigious speaker line-up at the 2014 Discovery Leadership Summit
The 2014 Discovery Leadership Summit is already packed with an impressive line up of thought leaders, including former Federal Reserve Chairman Dr Ben S. Bernanke, London Olympics organiser Lord Sebastian Coe and Nobel-prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz.
Discovery is pleased to announce that Minister Trevor Manuel has been confirmed as a speaker at this year’s Summit.
Manuel has served as a minister in the South African government for almost two decades – he was the longest-serving Finance Minister and is currently Minister in the Presidency: National Planning Commission. He has served in various senior capacities for a number of national and international bodies and has received numerous awards, including Africa's Finance Minister of the Year and the Woodrow Wilson Public Service award. Manuel also has seven honorary doctorates from South African tertiary institutions and a Doctor of Laws from MacMaster University in Canada.
The theme of this year’s Summit is Intellectual Capital.Shared. This year’s Summit also boasts a local entrepreneurship panel, with some the country’s most respected business leaders discussing pertinent issues and trends facing entrepreneurs and business leaders today. Confirmed participants for this year’s panel are FirstRand founder, Laurie Dippenaar, and Bidvest founder and CEO, Brian Joffe.
