Q&A: Discovery Health Journalism Awards rules
Working on your Discovery Health Journalism Awards entry? Unsure of some of the rules? Here’s some FAQs to help you out:

Q: I am a print journalist. In the ‘Rules’ section of the copy describing how to enter the competition, it states: “only hardcopy submissions will be accepted.” But in the Print Media section is states that entries should be submitted online in PDF format. I can submit my entry online but do I also have to courier a hard copy to your offices?
A: Print journalists may email their entry forms and their work in PDF format to journalismawards@discovery.co.za. It is only broadcast journalists who must send hard copies of their work to the Discovery offices in Sandton.
Q: How many entries can I submit per category?
A: Journalists can submit three entries per category; however, only five entries in total per journalist will be accepted. It is not permissible to enter the same piece in more than one category, except in the Young Upcoming Health Journalist of the Year category.
Q: Where can I send my entries to?
A: Journalists can email their entries to journalismawards@discovery.co.za. They can also send their entries to:
